What’s a LUG, you ask? From Wikipedia:
A Linux User Group (LUG) is a private, generally non-profit or not-for-profit organization that provides support and/or education for Linux users, particularly for inexperienced users. The term commonly refers to local groups that meet in person, but is also used to refer to online support groups that may have members spread over a very wide area and which do not organize, or which are not based around, physical meetings. Similar organizations such as FreeBSD User Group (BUG) exist, although many LUGs encompass FreeBSD and other free Unix-based operating systems.
If you’re a closet geek and the Susquehanna River drains your back yard, don’t pass up this opportunity to find like minded people.
Hi This sounds good. I’d recommend monthly or quarterly real live meetings to be held somewhere that can hold the number of attendees. A house (mine is an option, depending on size - or an office, library, etc are options). Chris

Chris, I think monthly meetings are the ticket, but not until after the new year. In the meantime, I’d like to identify a few interested people so we can have some discussion about meeting place, etc. Mike

Does a LUG exist in Williamsport yet? If so, let me know … I would like to join. I currently run a ubuntu server at home and would like to learn more from others.

Hi Brian,
Thanks for the interest. We don’t have a LUG yet, but I’d like to set one up. I’ll be posting more on the subject later, but any and all suggesstions are welcome.
