The Williamsport paper launched an online photo sharing site this past week called CU, so I thought I take it for a spin. After all, Everyone loves to publish their photos.

The twist I see with CU is that the paper makes their photos available online and available to purchase. So if my little boy Fritz had his picture in the paper, I can order a print. I can’t order a print of my pictures though, which isn’t a big deal for me.

So far CU looks good. Unfortunately for the Gazette, competition is tough in the online photo sharing world, and they’re late to the game. Still, the site has local appeal, and I’m sure it will pick up some steam. Right now, there are 36 user created galleries with some great photos along with a bunch of newspaper created galleries.

I like the multiple file upload feature - it’s easy to use, which isn’t always the case with online sites. My only user-related nuances: The web address of my photoblog is not user friendly. When I’m signed in, the link to my photoblog is not visible - I have to first click on the Galleries link on My Dashboard. It’s only a problem when you’re trying to find the link to your photoblog so you can share it.
